If I buy one I choose APC -- they have always been easy for me to work with. Go on the web and read the warrenty info first then choose the size of unit you need.
OH APC is a great brand-for an Uninterruptible Power Supply--- (UPS) If you are just looking for something like 600 watts for a normal PC-- less for a monitor or TV ect ect-- they are about $50-$70--- I have one that I hook to 2 car batteries and can run my laptop for about 2 weeks- using wifi--- My plan is a solar charging unit so I can take the set up camping and have everything run for awhile. Most UPS-s have a great warrenty to cover lightening strikes on other equipment plugged into them-- I have had a TV replace and several smaller things- due to Lightening-- and I didn't pay a dime :-)
