Slow acceleration when just started

My 1996 Ford F-250 7.3l will start up fine but blows a lot of white smoke. I let it warm up for about 5 minutes and when I go to take off its slow to accelerate for about 3-5 miles. After a while it seems like it finally warms up and drives fine. any idea what would cause it to take that long to warm up?

Sounds more like your injectors are going out.

Its not all that bad, you can send 1 injector at a time to Jim at Rosewood diesel that way it you dont have to shell out the $1250 for all 8.

Oh almost forgot leave your truck plugged over night, that way you dont have to worry and just drive it without the fear of gettingvhit frm behind.

Um,that is not the best route. A set can be flowed and matched properly. Not to mention that's a huge pain to go through the bleeding and clearing process that many times.
If is injectors do it once and do it correctly. Send to jim

Could just be injector orings which you can do yourself for not much cash. How many miles are on the truck? What kind of temperature outside? If it is doing it at 15 degrees maybe as much as a problem then if it is doing it at 55 degrees. Just just be glow plugs or a relay

It's all good!
It just worrysome when guys start buying one or two reman stix from who knows where and then say my truck still runs bad...yea... I feel the lack of funds believe me. But sometimes you just have to grin and bear it.

^^^^ +1, besides, if funds are an issue, it's gonna be a LOT cheaper to send them all at once.

The truck has 252000 miles. I've changed the o rings about 6 months ago. I've also changed wiring harness glow plug relay and glow plugs. It'll be 60 degrees outside and still take forever to warm up
