If we are running oversize tires should we be tuning our gear ratio's to the effective gear ratio?

Stock 3.73 gear with a stock 31.5 inch tire converts to effective 3.43 with a 35 inch tire and there is an option to change your gear ratio with the sct tuners.

 

No, you are over thinking this.

 

On the SCT you can change the rotations per mile of the tire to calibrate the speedo. I test drive it and use a GPS mph to verify accuracy. It doesn't effect the tune.

 

I've changed between tires several times and never done anything else other than revs-per-mile, and only with a Superchips TirePaq and an SCT 3015. Never had an issue with the ABS or changed gearing.
