1983 F100 with 302, AOD. After completing my rebuild I found that the hazzards are not working. I changed the flasher, but mine only has one and the directionals were working. No problem with directionals, but hazzards will not operate. If I have a directional on and pull the hazzard switch, the directional stops. Am I in for a steering wheel pull? What to check for?
I don't know if the 1983 is similar to the 1986 or not. But, when I did my conversion to LED I had two of the flashers in the fuse panel. One on the front was signal and the back was for the hazards. I also learned that the polarity is different for each one as well.
Maybe this can help? If it doesn't I know there are plenty of people here to get this figured out.
I have the same problem with my 86 Bronco and my 82 f150 that was converted from 2wd to 4wd with 4sp manual. Can someone please post a pic of this flasher on the back of the fuse box. I have pulled mine and looked everywhere and can find nothing. Thanks
If you loked n the back and did not see a flasher, then yours is missing. It is directly behind the one on the front. You will see the two slots that it plugs into just like the one on the front. It does not have the round casing built into it for the back. That should get you going as it did me.
