Factory manual is probably your only choice. They come in 3 volumes to make a complete set. They turn up on Ebay.
Some vendors out there have them on CD ROM but I'm suspicious of the quality.
I have a Motor manual for 1966 but it only covers basics and does not have much in the way of illustrations.
Thanks for the info....I checked w/ MotorHaven and as you said they have a 3 vol. set for 75.00 plus shipping. I suppose that this would be the going price for new.
I have a '66 and I bought the CD Manual Online and I can tell you - it's exactly like my friends original paper copy. I paid $40 for it, a lot cheaper than what I've seen it going for. I would post from who, but I don't know if they adverstise. They are from MA if that helps.
I wish mine was a 3/4 ton - it's only a 1/2 :-( Heck - it's not even a custom cab, just a plain jane.
One note on the software install - it takes a reader (included - sort of like Adobe) - however, install it in the default, if you don't, it won't open the files. Who knows why they let you choose a different location but not have it work?
I bought the '64 one using the 'Buy it Now' function on Ebay for 29.95 plus 2 for shipping. It is the actual manual scanned in and changed to pdf format (Adobe Reader comes as well to read it). The pages are clear and clean and not distorted at all. Since it is pdf, you can zoom in and out as needed. I am very happy with it. There are a few pages with a company stamp in the margin from the original manual used to make the files.
