I recently bought a 70 F100 short bed to build and I figured that it was just a plain heat only cab, but when I got it home and popped the hood I saw that it had a big AC box on the firewall. It looks like someone spliced in half of a dentside firewall to use the factory AC.
Has anyone seen or done this conversion before?
The cab has had a bit out work done already so I don't really want to find another, but I'm not sure about the massive heater box in the engine bay.
I'd like to have AC eventually but I guess I'm just not that sure on how much more work it'll be to get everything working.
I like the look of a clean engine bay, and with a different engine and possibly a turbo it'd really simplify the plumbing without the AC box.
