Decided I needed AC today....
The truck I bought last week is ideal for me in every way other than that it came without air conditioning...
I haven't driven it anywhere yet, but today I decided it needed AC.
Two calls and I found a place that had a 7.3 sitting in it's yard that had not been picked over yet.
Found a GREAT deal on all the ac parts I need and some other extras too...
Started pulling parts off of this truck...
Looks like it belonged to an air force guy...
Poor truck got hurt pretty bad to get put in the junkyard...
Taking the dash off was easier than I thought but the crushed in passenger side led to a couple of extra minutes freeing the dash where it was pinched. In this picture, I already had removed the interior vent box...
Here's the engine compartment after I took the parts I wanted. Still a LOT of good parts on this engine.
Other side of the engine showing the heater/evap box removed.
The yard guy and I were able to get this done in an hour. A LOT less of a hassle than I thought it would be.
Here's the booty I got away with! (not telling how much I got it for until I sell the parts I don't need )
-AC compressor
-AC lines
-Duplicate set of heater lines
-Intercooler piping
-Intercooler boots
-Intercooler clamps
-Extra grey CPS
-All the underhood large amp fuses, relays and breakers
-AC dash controls
-Interior air door vent box and vacuum lines
-Exterior heater/AC vent box with heater core/evap core and receiver dryer
-AC bracket I didn't need but now I have spare tensioner and two idlers
-Condensor and mounting brackets
-Inner fender breathing air intake (I like that it is separate from the battery. Looks like a much better breathing setup. ALSO it says INTERCOOLED on it
-Spare battery tray
Ok.....photobucket is messing up, not all the pictures are showing up, but you get the gist.
