Get a TENDER if you are worried. it monitors voltage and only changes when the batteries get low. the trickle will charge the WHOLE 2 MONTHS.
As for mouse prevention. i have luck with dryer sheets placed under the hood in several spots and in the interior
I used the term Trickle charger but it's a Black and Decker tender. I use them on the garden tractor and the Kubota both over the winter and keep one on the CRV when we're away. They work well.
