OK folks, I've owned my 92 bronco, 351, auto, 146K mi for many years now. been great. I'm getting a check engine light coming on about 10 minutes after cold startup. Cold start ups are quick and idle is smooth. 10 - 15 minutes after running check engine light comes on. Upon warm startups, it takes alot of cranking for her to fire up - light remains. Exhaust is stinky, crappy milage.
1. How do i read codes? I have no code reader, and I want to learn anything I can.
I own a 73 bronco that I do all my own work to, but obviously, no EFI.
Thanks.

For OBDI which you have they have cheap code readers available on the 'bay or auto shops.
Autozone's can usually do a 'reading' for free since it's in their best interest to tell you what they can sell you
Sears I think has OBDI readers...I am not sure since all I have is OBDII stuff and I got a nice palm based one for $120 that gives me real time readouts and verbose descriptions of the codes.
That's another thing I forgot, with a paperclip and watching the check engine light flash you don't need a reader on obdi...however some readers are only $10 so whatever is easier
