steering wander corrected, 5 degrees of caster

Based on everything I've read in this string, 6 degrees is fine. Some say you can go as high as 8, but I wouldn't due to angle as you say. I believe the alignment shops have some wiggle room and if you tell them you would like to keep close to 5, they can accommodate. I debated 2 or 4 and glad I went with 4. Only mistake I made was drilling out shim holes to 7/16" before taking to alignment shop per multiple recommendations in string. Wait and let shop do that if need be. I had to get different size bolts/pins. Worked OK but added hassle. I think it may even be metric. Talked to a guy who had identical Excursion. He had replaced steering box, switched to coil suspension, rode a bit better, but still wandered. Went with shims and problem solved.

^^^I'm just concerned that 4* plus the existing 2* putting me at 6* might be too much. Although, I don't use the front drive (4×4) at anything but crawling speed to maneuver a travel trailer on marginal terrain or at a boat ramp. Therefore pinion angle isn't a critical concern.
It's only been a year or something like that.
If you haven't... I'll tell ya; You'll be fine. Do it and never look back. Your worrying too much about it.
