Wow. 47.4 liters and 4,740hp. The 4,000lb weight would require some helper springs on the front . Fifty something inches long would put part of it in the cab (or hanging out of the front). That's a monster!
That is a neat engine. Several years back I worked at a manufacturing plant where we would co-generate power anytime the power rates got above ten cents a kilowatt hour. The power plant we used was a V-16 Detroit diesel. Four turbo chargers and two superchargers, man that thing was huge. You had to get on a six foot step ladder to check the water in the radiator but the part I enjoyed the most was firing it off. The two exhaust pipes came out the side of the building above the radiator (which took up most all of the roll up door space). We had two five gallon metal cans that were kept over the ends of the exhaust to keep rain from blowing in and birds from nesting and so forth. Anyhow, I would make sure no one was around when I fired it off, leaving the cans in place, and watch those suckers sail across the back lot. Diesels are awesome.
