6.4 starter upgrade

I know there have been a few threads discussing the advantages of the 6.4 starter on a 6.0... My question is where can I find one to put on my 6.0? My truck is around 130k and the starter seems to be on its way out and id like to put a 6.4 starter in I'm just having trouble finding one aside from going to the local ford dealership... Does anyone know where i can find a reliable one? I've seen some from mean green and alliant... are these relaible replacements? Thanks for any help

You can always try a good used one. Find a lower mileage 6.4, try car-part.com.
Took me all of three minutes to find 10 pages of starters under $150

I got mine at AutoZone, also new-not rebuilt. Lifetime warranty. Spins the motor noticeably faster.

I just went thru replacing the starter on my 6.0 Ex and I used the 6.4 starter. It is a direct bolt in as well. I am in Canada and a few stores carry these and my cost thru a friend was $175.00 for a rebuilt unit. This was better than some of the places quoting $400.00 plus core.
I would definitely use the 6.4 as it does seem to spin faster than the 6.0 unit I had on.
