I have a 90 f150 with a 5.0 with e4od trans and was wondering if an e4od out of a 92 f150 with a 5.8 would bolt up

Yes it will. But before you go through the trouble of pulling it out what exactly is the problem you're having that you feel you need to change it?

Its slipping really bad jumps in and put of gear shifts early and has no where near the power it used to

have you pulled codes? attempted a trans fluid/filter change?
Is your overdrive button located on the dash or at the end of the shifter?

We can't help you with what little information you've provided. Do some things like:

*Obtain DTCs from your truck if present
*Check the transmission fluid. If brown or dark, it's burnt and probably needs to be changed, along with the filter.

If there are no codes and the fluid is ok, I would imagine it needs to be dismantled and properly diagnosed. Not something a home mechanic is capable of, take it to a shop that specializes in transmissions.
