Help Identify These Brackets/Mounts

Does anyone know what these brackets/mounts are for (I have two)? I just bought a 79 F350 with a 400m and got a whole slew of extra pieces parts. I have identified most of what I have, but these two brackets are alluding me.

Thanks in advance,

Rayo

Interesting... dunno what they are but I'd start looking for two bolt holes roughly six inches apart.

Note the elongated holes. That would lead me to concluded that there was some adjustability designed into the brackets.

They are bottom braces to the transmission cross member. They will bolt to the cross member and the frame rails.

I believe those are the side support mounts for your transmission crossmember. Your crossmember has two bolt holes on either side that fasten at the inside top of the frame. Then these brackets bolt to the sides of the crossmember with two bolts per side. and attach at the bottom of the frame with two more bolts per side.

Thanks guys, that is exactly what they are and where they were NOT??? Are these optional for some reason, I can see that big cross member is bolted up higher where it meets the top side of the frame. Would there be some reason not to install these lower supports or was it an oversight by the previous owner?
