Just curious, are there any other year camper shells that will work on a 73-79? I've seen some for sale off of 90's Fords but can't find any from a 73-79 for sale.
For a long bed truck the bed dimensions are all the same up to 97.
From 1980-1997 the rear window of the cab has less angle than the '79 and earlier cabs. The sides and the height will line up but you'll end up with a wedge of a gap between the rear window of the cab and the front window of the canopy.
This is a long bed canopy on a short bed truck but the picture is just to show how a 80-97 canopy lines up with a dent side (or bump side) cab. All fits well except for the pie slice gap.
I've seen a few trucks for sale with caps on them. One guy willing to part the cap from the truck.
the ones that i've seen on that FB page are the old style, similar to mine.
Your canopy looks great. Did you restorew it or has it always looked so nice? I can't tell from the picture but is your canopy smooth and painted or is it rough textured with the color in the gel coat?
I have a plane white one I am going to restore but it's very textured and looks like it will take a LOT of sanding.
Long bed camper shells are getting hard to find or they must be special ordered. I want to put one on mine, so I'll just simply measure the bed and the shell I'm looking at.

It's always looked that nice. I had the go fast stripe added but scored a gem before that. A guy had it in his garage. He took it off his truck (that had less than 20k original miles) and was just storing it. Truck was beautiful - He just didn't like the cap. It still has the original ford part decal inside, light works and came with the factory bed j hooks too. Even the emblems are pristine

Where can I find one? Are the hard to come by?
Do the ones from the newer years also fit?
