This new camper will be a foot shorter and should be about 2000 lbs lighter than what we have now. We don't have the new one to weigh, but I did spec it out with Lance including all the options as ordered plus propane and water weight. Even threw in 1000 lbs for food, clothes, tools, gear and equipment.

I was keeping my eyes peeled for an OBD 7.3 PSD F350.and after several months, actually found a low mileage (75,000) cherry dually with, IIRC a 2011 Lance 1150, mounted on it for an extremely reasonable price. I called the fellow and he already had an offer on it. He said it lasted less than 5 minutes after he posted it with pictures.
Spent all our money on the new camper now, so we'll have to wait awhile before I start the search again. No matter how it goes, the 96 PSD stays and the F350 would be in addition to.

Sick ****! Now that is a setup I like.

Why no windows though?

Here is my poor man's Overland version, I'm a tad over GVWR when loaded and full of water... about 10% over;

Kind of reminds me a "traffic accident" I was called to one day. A chevy 3/4 ton pickup sitting in the middle of the highway blocking traffic. They had loaded the pickup with 3/4 minus heaped up to about mid window level. They made it about 2 miles from the gravel pit when the rear axle snapped and the tires and wheels departed the axle. The front of the pickup went up in the air and then the frame bent/broke right at the back of the cab. When I got there, the front bumper was nose down, the rear bumper was on the pavement and the front of the bed and back of the cab were pointed up like a pyramid.

This reminds me of a '90s vintage Dodge 1500 SB 4x4 I found in a salvage yard near St. Augustine. I was there with a friend looking for parts to fix his racecar he had recently crashed. The truck was hard to miss; painted signal yellow and bent like an inverted V at the cab/bed junction, sitting with the grill and tailgate nearly on the ground. It was a local beach life-guard truck and had lived it life patrolling the beach and thus exposed daily to saltwater.

I asked the yard owner about the truck he said that the frame was so rusty that it just folded up one morning on the drive to the beach when the driver hit the brakes for a stop light.

No, its not photoshopped. And I didn't just grab it off the internet randomly. A friend took this photo on the way to work recently, near Columbus, OH.

I figure that Lance camper weights 2000 lbs minimum and the Taco's payload is about half of that.

On the positive side, there's no longer any need for fold-down steps at the back of the camper.
