auto locking hubs part numbers
i have had this 2002 superduty for 12 years. 4wd auto been fine except i had to replace sol valve a few years ago. of course with the auto feature working so good i rotated the manual ***** less and less. now that i am replacing ball joints i wanted to free them up. friend at work cleaned and freed his up several years ago. however when it got to mine his memory was a little shaky. we could not figure out how to remove outer ****. we had the inner gears,springs, and other parts out. while looking for a snap ring internally we damaged the diaphragm under the cap. we now have it apart. of course now i need the diaphragm. most posts want to go to complete manual or buy all new hubs. seems like this diaphragm should be less than $10. i cant find it anywhere. Guzzle mentioned that he does not take the **** out because the diaphragm usually gets damaged. he did not say where he gets new diaphragm when it does happen. anybody know the part number for this diaphragm. as mentioned earlier i want to keep it original and i dont want to buy a new $200 unit when a new diaphragm will fix it

I seem to recall someone else posting a question like this (needing just a part of the hubs) and the answer being that you had to buy the whole assembly.
Maybe try a salvage yard? Pull one from a similar truck?
