Hello Folks, Our "Beast" now has 230K on her. We did an engine out overhaul at 179K where we resurfaced the heads, put in new gaskets, and ARP'd those bad boys. We did a bulletproof EGR Cooler (Should have gone delete but my conscience and a fear of an overreaching state govt. got to me), new oil cooler with the Sinister by-pass coolant filter, new HPOP, blue spring upgrade, new cam and crank position sensors, and a new exhaust air flow sensor. I believe we have also replaced all of the injectors, save 2, that existed before the overhaul. In addition to that massive 9K overhaul I have now replaced the Fuel Conditioning Module, The vaccuum solenoid and pump for the HVAC, all of the glow plugs, and now the wiring harness. I actually found the correct harness, from a wholesale parts distributor in Kentucky. Apparently Ford is no long making 6.0 parts anymore? My mechanic had to add looms for the accelerator sensors that are on the front of the engine. At some point during or after my '05 was built they stopped putting those parts on the engine? The FICM and PCM appear to be working great. I have tested the FICM numerous times plus keep an eye on it via an Edge CS. Runs great. We need this truck for another 250K, at least. Until Ford grows a pair and re-releases the Excursion or some other mfg comes out with an 8 passenger diesel vehicle that can pull 12 or 13K. So what next? I would love to do a 3" lift ensuring that the setup gets rid of or reduced the steering wheel jolt when you hit bumps in the road. I don't need huge power but I do need a lot more miles!
