Welcome to the club. Ford had a better idea. Have you found some of the other fun things it does?
If the passenger gets out and closes the passenger side door the horn honks twice UNLESS the driver either opens his door first or unlocks all the doors first. Great for dropping someone off at 3 AM.
When the passenger opens the door, the parking lights come on - but only for the time the door is actually open.
No daytime running lights except in Canada - seriously?
I imagine all of this stuff is software controlled (I know the DRL issue is) I just don't understand the reasoning behind it all.
Being a typical "Lazy American"...I'd have to enter the code then pull the handle rather than just pull the handle...that's too much work!
I meant just while you're out of the vehicle with it running. I do this all the time when I get out of the vehicle to get the mail. If it's not raining I just leave the door open, if it's raining I leave the fob on the console and close the door. The door doesn't lock, so no keyless entry is required. But maybe you want to leave the car running with the door closed and locked? How about one fob on the console to keep the vehicle quiet and one in your pocket to enable the keyless entry?
You're right though, this is a "first world problem", not one that I ever imagined I'd be thinking about 10 years ago!
