Okay, been running in circles with coolant research, seen a lot of arguments over G0-5 and Cat EC-1, emailed PEAK to see what they said about FINAL Charge SCA Precharged, I have a coolant filter so very low silicate levels don't really concern me that much, but have read some forums that say the water pump needs a little silica at low rpm, so really as undecided as when I started. Wanted to get Rotella Ultra ELC, but is proving very hard to find the concentrate, so was also thinking about the John Deere Coolgard II...help
I am going ELC, i was just wondering what brand to use, been seeing a lot of arguments about zerex G0-5 and cat EC-1, with the zerex having low levels of silicate and the EC-1 having none....just trying to clear it up before I drive 70 miles to a Tractor supply to get it
If you don't mind low silicate, the ford gold is just fine. The people changing to anything other than ford gold are changing because they want zero silicate.
