I have swapped the little solenoid on the valve cover and checked that I have voltage and ohmed the wires going back to the computer what am I missing?
The KOEO self-test is an electrical test only. So either you are not getting the right voltage back to the computer or you have a power supply or ground problem or a computer problem or a wiring problem in that circuit.
TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) 553 AND 552: CHECK VOLTAGE OF VPWR CIRCUIT.
DTCs 553 and 552 indicate that voltage output for Secondary Air Injection solenoid(s) did not change when activated.
Possible causes:
-- AIRB/AIRD circuits shorted to power.
-- AIRB/AIRD circuits open or grounded.
-- AIRB/AIRD resistance out of range.
-- Damaged Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
Just to make sure I'm in the right ball park The airb/Aird circuits are to two square topped solenoids on the valve cover right?
I checked the wires do you know what range the resistance should be and what voltage I should have.
Yes that is the two square topped solenoids on the valve cover.
Both get power from the PCM Power relay over a red wire. This red wire should be close to battery voltage.
The coil resistance is to be between 50 and 100 ohms.
