gremlins in the truck

ok, gremlins isnt much of a stretch of the truth, mice actually. i let my 93 f150 set for a few years with the occasional drive to keep it alive. and then the mice went through it and ate all the wires of of each injector and all of the sensors on the pass side of the motor and the red/green goin to the dist. and one O2 sen wire. i spliced half a harness from my 92' 351 into the pass side and just reattached all the rest.
ok now the truck runs smooth and drives fine but it is very hard to start after its been running for any amount of time. the codes its throwin is 113 123 118 and i cant remember the TP one but it was a high voltage code and then the nasty 998 any thoughts on the tp and 998? the rest i can manage. thank you aheada time

998 is a hard fault, a sensor or wire issue is causing a problem for the computer it can't deal with.

Recheck your work, make sure you didn't cross a circuit. If that fails to correct the hard fault try unplugging sensors one at a time, see if one of them is causing it.

Your other codes are all for "above max voltage", measure it, how much to much? If your getting battery voltage for example, that be in part the problem.

well, ive checked a few for proper voltage, and say IAT is like 5.2 and the TPS is 5.3 now can i just adjust the tps to bring the output back to where it should be?

Whats the battery voltage engine off and engine run?

If the ref voltages are to high that suggests a PCM problem, check the main voltage first see if the voltage reg is over charging the system.

ok the voltage with the engine off is normal 12ish, now with it running the longer it runs the higher it gets, from high 14 to after a few minutes almost 17 and climbing slowly. im guessin regulater? isnt that part of the alt?

17 isn't good. I would check the voltage regulator and go from there. Yes it's part of the alt. There is way to check it. Let me know if you need the instructions for it.

Maybe someone will know them off the top of their head. It's been awhile for me so I'll have to check the service manual.

ok replaced the v reg, and all is good in that department. but im still getting the 113 118 and 123 codes. my only guess is that i crossed the red/grey wires in the wrong spot? i know that they interconnect and some point, and my harness wasnt exact, so i just left them all sep on the pass side, but tie the sensor on the very back of the motor in with one of them. any thoughts?

any one, anyone have a picture of a complete harness and where they join?. buying a new one is my last resort. is it possible that it could be in the ecu?

I had the exact issue with 118 and it is the ECT sensor by the thermostat. Try a full throttle start and it should start and you'll get a bit of black smoke. It's basically saying the engine is in cold start up mode and is giving too much fuel. The full throttle start shuts off the injectors when you are starting Ford Fuel Injection » Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT) My truck ran like a dream after the change of the ECT sensor

Here's the site for codes and information. Good read......

Ford Fuel Injection

If your wiring change was somehow wrong then maybe the ECT isn't connected to the computer properly and giving the error

well, no dice. checked the ECT and IAT , both worked the way they were supposed to. still no start after its warm, and WOT doesnt get it to start either. pulled apart the wiring harness, no issues there. all the sensers are gettin 5.5-5.7v. the idle air valve is gettin 11.6. what are the odds of it being the pcm?

ok. i gave up on the truck fora while. the vref voltage is right where it should b, ive checked that all the proper circuits have continuity, and no wires crossed. the code 998 is still being thrown. i know that has to do with the tpr, wheres that at? i kinda think it has something to do with it cause the first to second shift is pretty harsh.
