I have no woring feeding to my rear speaker slots in my 2000 Ranger and was wondering how I could add wiring back there to put in some rear speakers. Or if it would be easier to buy and amp, since I have amp out puts in my stereo and then hook up the speakers to that instead of running a line from my stereo. The delema there is how to send power to the amp. Any suggestions comments? Thanks a bunch.

 

ok well to run the power to an amp all u gotta do is run a power wire from ur battery...to hide it just run it through the plug where ur steerin column runs through the fire wall i just cut a hole in it big enough for the wire far enough away from the actual steerin column that it wouldn't get tangled, its sorta a pain to feed it through but its easier to go from the cab to the engine compartment, then just get some zip ties and tie it up and run behind ur kick panel then under the door sills then just slide it under the back panel until u get to where u want ur amp mounted, there should be a ground pretty close...i just used a seat bolt for my ground, its pretty easy, or if u want to add wires for ur back speakers just take out ur cd player, a buddy would be nice for this part, and feed wires down through the dash..there should be a nice size hole, oh and just take the screws out of the plastic molding to and pull it off to open it up more and splice into ur wires and run em the same way the power would have been run...try to keep as for as possible away from the pedals....speaker shop ran some for me and somehow it grabbed my gas pedal....not good when ur coming to a red lite, neways if u need anymore info just ask
