Ordering a new 2016 F450
Hi, I'm ordering a new F 450 to haul a slide in camper.
The RV dealer told me I'd need airbags because the springs are tuned for comfort and a 3000 lb camper would sink the rear 2 1/2 inches.
I sure hope he's wrong! The reason I'm getting the 450 instead of the 350 is that I don't want to bother with any suspension mods.
Right now my camper is on my 01 diesel Ram and it doesn't sag at all.(no mods)
BTW, I also chose the camper package as an option.
So Please give me your opinions on this. Thanks in advance.

"tuned for comfort"? wtf.
If ANYTHING, the truck's suspension should be tuned for carrying 3000lbs in the bed.
The rear should sink down, likely touching the overload springs, and it's good.
If you measured your Ram truck, it also sinks down with the camper on.
maybe he's concerned about the rear sinking down more, so the truck isn't level. but the camper is different than say, a 5th wheel trailer, more weight over the front wheels [likely why your Ram doesn't appear to sag, both front and back went down].
But I can't give you a qualitative difference between, say, a F350 and an F450 for how they would ride with a load like yours.
