Hey everyone! So While painting the frame I took off the rear axle and was looking to redo the brakes on the back while its all off. I ordered new drums, wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware all through Rockauto and the drums arrived today. However, the center of the Drum is missing all the hardware that the other drum still has on it.
Any Help on what to do and if it just comes out?
The truck is a 1975 F-250 supercab, trailer special. The rear axle is supposed to be a Dana 60
It's been a while since I tore into one of these, but I believe you need to press the studs out and that hub flange will separate. Then you will need to press it back onto the new drum.
Really? Ill post up some pics of the axle and let the more knowledgeable people have a look. This is my first time resto so the criticism of my work is encouraged lol looking to become a better mechanic! here are more pics, if you need any pics of certain angles let me know and ill post them up.
yeah, after endless searching online I remembered I had a ford shop manual.
F-250, 350, E-250-E-350
Removal
1. Raise the vehicle and install safety
stands.
2. Remove the wheel and tire as an
assembly. Loosen the rear brake shoe
adjustment screw.
3. Remove the rear axle retaining bolts
and lockwashers, axle shaft, and
gasket.
4. Remove the wheel bearing locknut,
lockwasher, and adjusting nut.
5. Remove the hub and drum from the
axle. 6. Remove the brake drum-to-hub
retaining screws, bolts, or bolts and
nuts. Remove the brake drum from
the hub.
One stud broke when coming out cause it was stuck to the side! Thanks guys. Ill post when the axle is all painted and done this weekend, should look EXTREMELY different. As for the break lines and fuel lines on this truck, nobody carries then pre-bent. How difficult is it to make my own?

Good deal, glad it came apart.
These guys seem to be the "go to" for pre-bent lines.
You can get a kit with all the new springs, sometimes a new arms, but I always just wire-wheel/paint the old ones and reuse them (arms, not springs). wheel cylinder is as easy as it looks. Brakes should auto adjust when you drive, but you may still need to tweak them.
Alright cool, so far I got the wheel cylinders, master rebuild kit with new springs, adjuster, etc., shoes, and drum. Just waiting on my leaf spring bushings and sway bar bushings to get here and everything is ready to get reassembled and painted. For the axle, would you say the back drum plate get caliper paint on it? the the axle just get regular chassis paint? does that plate get hot at all?
