Will not crank, 7.3 (Solved)
It ran seemingly perfect when I parked it and it sat for maybe 10 days to 2 weeks and wouldn't crank. Battery is fine and fully charged. Glow plug heaters work OK. Engine spins really fast, almost like it had no compression. (Not sure though)
Temperature in the 30's -50's.
I did some research on line and decided to change the Cam Positioning Sensor (CPS). Didn't help, still won't crank.
I originally tried my Cheap Harbor Freight OBDII . (Don't waste your money, IMO).
What should I troubleshoot next/ or try.
Thanks in advance.

You tried your HF ODBII reader and what? it reported no codes, or it couldn't connect to your computer or the display just never came on?
Batteries always fully charged. Engine spins easy and fast.
Should have said wont START rather than wont CRANK.
OBDII was recognized but wasn't quality enough to read all the codes--------it did give me choices but not the ones to help dagnose my particular problem.
JWC 3
No check engine light and I will check fuses.
To ALL, I forgot to mention that I put Dielectric on, in and around the electric plug.
Maybe this caused a problem?????????
Another question: Will a bad MAP sensor cause it to not START????????????
Thanks again, Marvin
Then He stopped by my house and opened the hood, climbed up and wiggled a connection to the right and behind the fuel filter. ( As you face the rear.)
Not sure what he called it? IP, PI or something, anyway I think it screws into the intake maybe. Then he got in and it cranked over fine and started.
Thanks for the help and questions. He said to bring it by his shop and maybe his Snap-On OBDII would find what code was the problem.
Now I probably changed the CPS in vain, but at least I have an extra to carry.
Thanks again, Marvin
