Any reason you need the long tubes? They are a lot more hassle than shorties and only gain a 'bit' over them.
Whether or not they are coated can be solved via a $100-250 coating job (cheaper if available locally, more expensive if you have to go to 'jet-hot' name brand types).
Many people seem to be focusing on the headers when the catback would probably net more power easier and cheaper if that were the only thing done.

these should do the trick for you. DW
Something to keep in mind if you go with long tubes the factory Y pipe needs to be changed, if you go with shorties the Y pipe can stay.
Bassani makes a complete header to tailpipe package and Gibson does headers and cat back....flowmaster also has a cat back.
Going with shorties is a lot easier and you don't lose very much at all...on a non-modded engine they may even yield a little more low end torque than long tubes (maybe not, either way they will be neck and neck).
Hey strictly07 could you fill out your signature with a brief description of your rig like year, engine, tranny, and any other mods like lift, tires and such it will help us help you better down the road. Now just an FYI if you run duals dont run them strait out the back because if you drive with the rear window down at any time the exhaust will come into the cab. Yuck. Now a good single exhaust will give you better torque then a dual setup will unless you keep the pipe size around 2.5. I have the same year and engine as you and im running shorties with a single 3" out the back with flowmaster muffler and it sounds and looks great. They dont really have a true dual setup for our rigs because of the tranfercase being in the way.
No 3" would be too big to run duals!I have always went with flowmasters, but I've heard that dynomax sound real good.I'm going to see if I can find a sound clip of one on here.
Dead set on dual exhaust? Always makes me wonder why. I mean 3" is too big for duals all the way back. And from a volume and BP standpoint 2" duals aren't that much better, in fact may be WORSE (than a single 3" all the way back) with no mods to the intake (front end) of the internal combustion cycle. Too much exhaust scavenged away too quickly reduces backpressure substantially enough to rob the low end torque that trucks need to develope their power. Flushmaster hasn't "designed and tuned" anything specifically for a particular stock vehicle in years if ever that I recall. You are better off with a system tailored to the particular vehicle, engine type and size. Otherwise you are dealing with "something close". You wouldn't go a plug hotter or colder just because you liked the sound or it was the cheaper plug. Why sacrifice when it comes to the exhaust? Go with something tailored to the vehicle and engine in question and you will be much happier with the results. Spend the money on a better set of shorties and retain the emissions parephenalia with Bassani's Y-pipe. I never made a better investment on aftermarket components for the truck than going with that setup. The catback, etc. choose what you like but make sure its made specifically for that truck with that engine. Otherwise you are peicing together a system that may work but its efficiency is suspect because its "generic" components that "will work" not "specific" components "designed" to work with that vehicle and engine combination.

Gotta good point there grey, only problem is most people dont have a grand to dump into and exhaust system. Thats the only bummer about bassini regardless of how well it works these are trucks we are talking about hehe not some saturday night special smoken tires out at the track. But your right that there system is tailored for our rigs, but you could say that about gibson as well.

have a good one grey, always nice to BS with ya
Hooker super comp headers. Some of the best at a good price through Jegs. Right at 380 if I remember right. Hooker aerochamber mufflers will give better horse than Flowmasters (as tested by MM and FF) and have a good sound too.
