Coolant loss

Looks like I have a leak going on somewhere. My reservoir is at the minimum mark where 3 months ago it was at the upper (cold) mark. Got an appointment with the dealer Thursday to address the issue. Hoping I'm not part of the leaky radiator group.

A lot of trucks leak coolant at the turbo fitting. There's an improved fitting that addresses the issue.

Good luck...

have you shined a light in the valley of the motor? follow the coolant line back to the turbo and see if you can determine a leak.

Drivers side wheel well, if you look through there you can see the petcock for the radiator. Usually around that area is where that will leak.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll check those spots before I take it in. I do know that the leak is not a big one. I check my fluids weekly and it's been over a month since I noticed it started to drop. My dealership is top notch so I know they'll get it fixed right.

It sounds like you have an excellent dealership, 93-331-29PSI. Keep in mind that I'm here if you need any assistance. How many miles are on your truck currently?

Hey folks,

If you need me to get involved, just send over your details in a PM. When writing, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership; I'll arrange for your regional customer service managers to reach out.

I looked down in the valley and I see what appears to be an orange residue but then again it may be surface rust. Either way it's dealer bound in the morning. I'll report back once I have a cause.

Got into the dealership today and there is no visible coolant leaks so thinking that it's probably evaporating over time (15 months). They topped it off, taped the lid and told me to bring it back in a week for a check.

I also bought the remote start kit today and have it installed (I think). Still need to get the feature enabled but will do that next week when they check the coolant. One question for anyone who knows. Does the remote start plug into the module on the inside (right) of the glove box? Think it's the TPM module ??? Kit didn't have instructions with it.
