Hey guys, have never had any issues with my 2004, Navigator until now. I just replaced the spark plugs, battery, serpentine belt and figured while in there replace the coli packs at 117k + miles on the originals. I used the Accel coil packs and after installation cranked right up. However, I get a code for the cam position sensor and a dash light saying "check air suspension". I did not disconnect the CPS, just disconnected the battery. I also disconnected that box on the passenger side fire wall with three electrical connectors.
Anyone have suggestions as to what may be causing these two issues? Would a couple of drive cycles be necessary to set the electrical stuff?
You could've simply knocked the connector off the cam sensor when you were in there working. Did you take a look at it? For the air suspension, with the key off, toggle the air suspension to off then back on and see if it resets.
Thanks alloro, the cps sensor was in fact either disconnected or knocked off. That solves my cps code, now to figure out why the "check air suspension" is showing up on the dash.
Once again the FTE guys come through.
On my 2004 Navigator when the check suspension light came on it was due to the height sensor. I am going though that issue as we speak.
Check to make sure none of the height sensor linkage arms came off. The sensors are located behind in the wheel well attach to the upper control arm.
If your truck is sitting low and close to the wheel wells it may have bottomed out your sensor and it will not engage the compressor. With the truck running take a jack behind you front tire on the main frame of the body and jack it up a bit see if the compressor starts. If it starts go and look at your display without opening the door and the check suspension indication is now off.
