We are all happy you/your wife/dog are AOK! That black ice is nasty stuff, looks like you will be ok to move on to another ex! I drove from Bozeman Mt To Twin cities Mn on saturday and the wind/snow were unbelievable!
Let me add to my voice to those that say glad you are all okay...sorry to see an Ex meet it's end.
As I have written before, a former neighbor rolled his previous Ex with a travel trailer attached. Both he and his wife walked away. When I asked what his next step was...he said..."find another Excursion".
The hunt has already started. Unfortunately, people consider 190K miles "low mileage" Might go diesel this time if I can find the right one ie "bullet proofed"
Just finished 7 hours of pulling all my valuable parts out of the X. Poor girl, you have to shove the left barn door to shut it. I put the original tires and rims back on and started her up. Ran like a champ. Burned off oil smoke for about a min from being upside down and that was it. Steering turned but it made a big pop turning it to the right. The more I look at it, the more I see wrong. Now the wait for an insurance adjuster to come from 150 miles away--that ought to be real quick
Wow, so glad you are ok. What a scary and sad thing to see...an Ex on its roof. But it is reassuring that the roof didn't collapse. I've always been a little leery of what would happen in a rollover, since I carry my family a lot.
Good luck with the insurance and the hunt for a new rig!
And this proves that the video out there of the X being dropped on its roof is no where near what happens in the real world. It looks like the X was driveable after it was righted! not even a broken window!

Not true. If you were to somehow against all odds get your truck to land on it's roof at zero miles an hour at exactly that angle so that the roof folded on it's one weak point then yes it can happen. Barring that it's just another vehicle.
Every vehicle has that angle somewhere, you just have to want to make something look bad and point it out if you want to make a statement
Sorry to hear about the Ex but damn sure glad none of you (including the furry kid) got injured.

If only I had my tools that day
Got everything but the sway bar and my $60 Phillips headlight bulbs
Well I got like 14,800 out of insurance which should have been more like 16,700. Somehow Kelly Blue Book doesn't know what they are doing since the insurance company uses a different "service"--they did not volunteer who.
$1000 worth of upgrades within the last year (many which I stole back)-they gave me a $71 credit.
