I'd go with serious.
Please start a thread in the transmission section. Include your engine and trans type. Explain how long this has gone on, what you were doing when it started, and what you have observed as far as any CEL, overheating, leaks, fluid condition, recent service, service history, unusual sounds and anything else you have noticed, especially any change in the vehicle prior to the loss of those two gears.
