Hi everyone, I have a 2004 Ford F250 4x4 with a 5.7 gas motor. Back rear end is going out. I found a 2008 frame and rear ends, will they inter-change? Thanks Denny
I know starting 2005 the factory wheel offset changed to a greater positive offset. This leads me to believe that the axles would be wider than that of a 2004 and older. You will want to be sure of the gear ratio so it matches your front.

Just so you know you don't have a 5.7. You have either a 5.4 v8, or 6.8 v10 if you have a gas motor. Figured it might be a typo but incase it wasn't I just wanted to let you know.
The 05+ axles are wider then the 99-04. It could be used but the wheel offset will be totally different then the front.
Thanks nojoke327 it is a 5.4, also when pulling a trailer uphill and going around a turn to the left or right its been making a growling, vibrating noise likes its going to fly apart, on a straight stretch its fine. Yesterday not pulling a trailer i pulled into a parking lot and when i went to back up something was trying to lock up. I went forward and made it home alright, and tried backing up again and it did the same thing. So i figured the rearend is going out. This morning i put it in 4 wheel drive and forced it backwards and it broke loose and the brake pedal went clear to the floor. At the time it wasn't leaking no brake fluid but my back rotor on the passenger side was really scarred up like my brake pads were bad. After sitting awhile I went back out and it was leaking brake fluid. Evidently it was in the caliper that was hanging up. But I still don't know why it grabs and jerks pulling a load. Thanks Denny
Thanks guys got it in as we speak getting new rotors pads and calipers put on thanks again, but still got rear end problems with pulling a load and turning its kinda like posi is catching or something.Denny
If your calipers were seized up it can mimic the feeling of a locker. I would get all your brakes done give them a chance to break in and then go from there see if you still have any other problems
If the clutches were shot they wouldn't engage though and you will effectively have an open diff. Too little friction modifier in the other hand could cause unnecessary engagement of the clutches and cause a locker feel around corners

You would think but there are lots of story's of the clutches sticking and chattering around corners. Mine is the worst when the axle is hot and towing my fifth wheel. I currently have 2 bottles of the Ford modifier in mine and its still chattering like crazy when hot. I am not sure what causes this condition with the clutches. Mine will be getting tore apart soon and I will have a better idea of whats going on..
