You could still get the freewheeling package on the 80- 81 ford trucks and Broncos. 1981 was the only year you could get the chromatic stripe on the 80-86 bronco. The XLS package replaced the freewheeling package in 1982 and 1983.
I have been trying to find parts for my 81 and was wondering about this package. Was it available without the graphics? My truck has the black grill, four speed manual, fog lights, quad shocks and the factory GT bar. It also has badging that doesnt match any trucks I've seen. It has been repainted so it is possible there were graphics at one point.

In 1981 the Broncos either had the chromatic stripe or just pin striping. I'll post a pic of the pinstripes.
After a couple years of working to get the stripes reproduced to exact Ford specifications, they are finally finished and installed on my '81 Free Wheeling Package B bronco.
This one is pretty neat, it's a one owner truck out of San Deigo (I'm the second owner) and is nearly mint. The lady bought it new, kept it really well preserved, although when I bought it the stripes were gone and it had been repainted. I confirmed with the Marti Report that it was a true FW package with the Chromatic Stripe, made the purchase, and worked with a friend in Dallas who also had a FW package B truck to have the stripes done. Couldn't have turned out better, if you ask me.
I have two more black '81 Free Wheelers to restore next! Enjoy.
