Kumho 235-85-16

90 F-250 4WD

I stopped in at Discount Tire yesterday and bought some new tires. They are Pathfinder 235-85-16 (Kumho). I hadn't done any research and just went with their recommendation. Anyhow, I did a little searching this morning and I've come across quite a few negative reviews of this tire so I'm looking for some advice from FTE folks that have experience with this tire. I'm trying to convince myself that these tires are fine but am prepared to take them back if they are truly a bad tire.

I need a 4WD to get up a very steep hill to my house (2WD skips the tires a lot) and also on an alternate route after it rains (minor wash outs, deep puddles and generally bad road).

Thanks.

First of all, you already have these tires on your truck, so you're gonna live with them, right?

Negative reviews are all over the place. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I found lots of positive reviews on the Pathfinders (nice aggressive tread too), even if I eventually went with the newest Yokohama tires for about the same money.

I support tire companies that manufacture in the US. Overall quality is better and you're supporting a neighbor, give it some thought next time.

I know, I know... Absolutely no preparation for this purchase! I just bought this truck, ran it through emissions and noted that the tires were age cracked (sat for years). Was driving by Discount and swung in. I figured if I got some feedback from users here that heartily recommend against them, I'd demand that they take them back and I'll spend more money for a replacement. I've bought a LOT of tires over the years from Discount so I think they would do as I requested. Thanks for your feedback.

I have KL 78's in that size on my truck.
I like them for what I need.
Tire life could (maybe) be better.

I buy from Discount online and install myself.
