Hey guys I have a dumb question. I have an 08' E350 and has the no power window, no radio, dash goes off issue. So from what I've check out and searched it's the cluster itself that's having issues. Anyway when troubleshooting and searching for new cluster I came upon this pic.
Now on my van this little wire is cut and I was wondering what that controls. The picture is from a diesel cluster and mine is gas if that makes a difference.
Anyway i haven't had much time to check it out it just came to me today and I won't see the van again for a couple days. So save me some headaches and tell me this is all that's wrong with my cluster lol
That looks like the very high-tech cable that links the shift lever to your gear indicator needle. It looks very similar to the ones I fixed. For late '90s F150s at least, there is a intermediate plastic piece that fails, so the indicator stops working. Replacing the piece with a little metal piece makes it work longer. Excellent way to shed a little blood getting it all together right under the dash.
You were bang on and I had a plan soon as I got there. Fixed and thanks. It might have been a dumb one once I did look but having the pre plan it took minutes instead of half hours
