Hi all. I've been lurking for a little over a month now, and finally joined up so I'll introduce myself. I've always had a liking for Excursions, and I was in the market for something at the end of last year and stumbled upon a beauty. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just something bigger than my Durango.
I hopped on Craigslist and found a 2000 Limited 4x2 6.8 with 33,000 miles. I couldn't pass it up.
It is a Texas truck that made its way back east. The original owner was an old man who moved to Asheville, NC in 2012 to live with his daughter when his wife died. Just before the trip he had EVERY fluid replaced along with many other maintenance items. it had 32k at the time. Fast forward to December when I picked it up with 33.5K miles on it. The exterior has a few scratches here and there, but nothing major and no dents. The interior is pretty much flawless. The leather on the driver's seat is starting to show a little cracking.
The only two issues I've found so far are:
1) The parking assist doesn't work. All the sensors click, so I'm assuming the speaker is bad. No big deal.
2) The speedometer is reading faster than actual speed. That one can be attributed to the rear tires being the wrong size. It has 265/70/16 on the rear. I don't know why, but they are brand new tires so I can live with it.
I picked it up for a cool ten grand and couldn't be happier.
