Hi Guys. I am having a bit of a problem figuring out the exact model of the motor in my C600 (1973)
It has five bolts for the valve cover and the intake manifold extends under the valve cover. So I was thinking it is a 360.
However, from what I understand the 360 is suppose to be stamped on the block on the passenger side near the front of the engine. I took quite a bit of time and there is no stamping of any type in this location. Unfortunately the tags for this motor are all missing.
Now, the carb is a 4 barrel Holley, which was on the 390 according to the manual I have.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to ID the block?
The reason I ask is I need a new set of points (yes, I should convert) but I don't know what the heck it is. The condenser, cap and rotor for a 360 fit, but the points don't even come close.
The tune up parts are identical between all of the HD motors, and they are the same as the pickup stuff. Standard Motor Products points part number FD8081 Condensor FD77
I'll bet the points you have are miss boxed
If your engine has a 4BBL carb it should be 361 or 391, they were the only FT engines offered with 4bbls. It could still be a 330, on the outside they are identical and the manifold and carb will bolt right on.
