My first PSD...

As of a year ago I became the proud owner of a 97 F250 SC LB 4x2 with the legendary 7.3 PSD. I am new to Power Strokes, but not a stranger to the diesel world. I also own an 84 F250 with the 6.9L IDI. I am currently replacing the water pump on the 97. I intend to flush the cooling system and replace with fresh anti-freeze/coolant. My question is, can I run the normal green ethylene glycol type with SCAs? Or should I go for the heavy duty stuff meant for diesels? Any and all advice is appreciated, thanks in advance!

There are many posts saying that ELCs should not be used in our trucks, because they're incompatible with the injector sleeve material. There seem to be just as many posts saying that it's not a problem. Old-school EG (i.e. "green") anti-freeze with SCA would be the safer bet. A fortunate new option is Fleet Charge (not FleetGUARD, which is a brand of test strip, or FINAL Charge, which is ELC), but FLEET CHARGE), which is old-school EG pre-charged with SCA. It's dyed pink, but in terms of the base anti-freeze chemistry, it's "green". Would be a good choice for your IDI as well.

It sounds like my best bet would be to go with Fleet Charge or something equivalent to?
