I have a BW 1356 electronic shift transfer case. I took it out in the snow about 2 weeks ago. I left it sit in 4x4 and when I went to drive it the next day it would not shift back into 2 wheel. Also noted ever since I owned the truck (2 years now) 4 low never worked. I checked the ECM and everything checked out. I got under the truck and found my wires going into the connector for the motor split and cracked and one wire completely cut. Is there any way I can re-use the connector and insert new wires into it? Or should I attempt to locate a completely new harness from the ECM to the Tcase?
The connectors do come out of the connector. If you unplug the connector you should see a red piece on the end. Pry that out with a screw driver...that red piece helps to keep the connectors secure.
With the red piece out, you should be able to CAREFULLY insert a small screwdriver into that end and lift up the clip holding in the wire. The wire can then be pulled out from the back.
Considering your wires are damaged and not the connector, you might be better off just getting a new pigtail (if you can find one) and that should come with wires that have some length to them so you can put things back together
I actually found it on a different chart, http://www.packernorrisparts.com/doc...gtailchart.pdf. But the one you gave me led me to it! Thanks for the help guys. Let you know how it goes. I may end up replacing the motor while im at it.
