Question Tail Light fuse

I have this 1998 F-150. The tail lamp fuse blows on me at random. It doesn't blow while they are on. If it blows, it usually goes when I go to turn the lights on. And the way I can tell, is that the dash lights are on the same circuit. This is not a good thing when you are out in the sticks without an extra fuse. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanx!

Intermittent shorts can be difficult to locate. It is possible it is in the headlamp switch itself if it only occurs when you turn them on but doesnt when the switch is already on. Otherwise I usually start by inspecting the trailer wiring, and then I check for installed accessories that may have been wired improperly.
