coil spring broken

coil spring on the driver's side is broken right at the top underneath the seat on the first coil. the top of the coil doesn't seem to be moving around at all and the spring is still aligned straight down to the bottom mount. should i worry about this and replace right away ? the truck drives fine and i have hit a couple of major potholes since that i would imagine would knock it out of alignment if it was going to ...

Gotta know, that the coil is loose inside of the bucket now, and at any time, it has the potential to pop out. This never occurs during a routine jog in the driveway, nor does it happen when you are trying to make it happen. This type of event usually saves itself for that one time you are in a tuxedo on your way to a very important dinner, or the wife is about to have a baby, or the mother-in-law is driving (alright that may not be a bad thing), you get the idea. Even if it seems fine now, it does not cost very much money to repair it. Even chevrolet never made a 2 piece coil spring. A broken spring, is still a broken spring, and needs to be fixed. There is no such thing as a little bit broken. Broke is broke, and you have no idea of the condition of the rest of the spring.
