2wd coil springs swap?

2wd coil springs swap?
So I think I had read in the past about older 2wd f250's swapping coil springs with 05+ coils or even f350 coil springs to give a little extra height, and I was wondering about any possibility to do the same with excursion coil springs on a 7.3l diesel. Has anyone actually tried? Would love to hear some info and feedback.

In 2000 the 2wd Excursions had three spring rate options: 3950#, 4100#, and 4300#. All three had a design height of 12". The 2wd pickups appear to have eleven different ratings options (based on 2001, closest year I could find data on),and all eleven have a 12" design height. In 2005 there were nine 2wd spring options, and all nine of them have a 12" design height. Any height gain using higher rated 2wd coils would be incidental, probably just moving back to where it was originally 16 years ago when it was built. I can't find it, but I recall at least one year of the spec book telling you how much height gain to expect with the 6500/7000# coils in the C&C models, and it was maybe an inch at most.
You can put any 2wd coil into your Ex, but it will make more of a ride/handling difference and less of a height change. I like having higher rated coils, they ride firmer.

As for using 4wd coils, if they fit with the perches, the design heights start at 14.7". Anything over +2" in a 2wd and you'll have serious alignment problems, to the point where even dual-axis camber bushings can't fix it, there comes a point around +2" where the knuckle starts hitting the C on the axle. 4wd springs would be seriously pushing the fitment of the knuckle, to the point where it likely won't work.
If you want to go up in a 2wd, buy 1-2" lower perch spacers and alignment bushings. Should be cheaper than messing with springs.
