In English what are you talking about?
Just did an oil change oil is good. Do these engines have a shut down switch if the oil gets low? I keep getting asked how the oil level is

These engines use oil to fire the injectors. If the oil level gets to low, the injectors will not fire.
ICP= injector control pressure
IPR= Injector pressure regulator.

High pressure oil is partially responsible for firing our fuel injectors....low or dirty oil can cause injectors to stop firing...

This was happening when I bought the truck. The guy had just done an oil change . I did it just befor we left on our trip to MA. The truck has done 2500 miles since the oil change 2000 miles on the highway and did't use a drop
I'm learning some interesting stuff about the 7.3 engine. Keep it coming. Thanks!!!

Thanks for that link! I got alot out of it for sure. Don't know if I could pass a test yet but I do have a way better understanding of how the fuel system works.

This a picture with the fuel bowl removed. You can see the tin nut that holds the solenoid on the IPR. See if that nut is on there, and if not, is the solenoid slid back.

Thanks! That picture is a big help. I looked under that hinged aluminum cover today and had no clue to what I was looking at. I did notice the aluminum nut was in place. I'll have to go back and look at it again to see if the solinoid has pulled out.
Where is the fuel pressure valve? Is it in this area? I was going to check the fuel pressure but I didn't see the fitting.

OK guys,

After busting out my shiney new AutoEnginuity and playing around with it, I successfully logged and saved a whole two minutes of data from Joe's truck

I'll post it on here too so someone smarter than me can try and decipher what is going on. I didn't see a duty cycle higher than 40% even when WOT on a slight grade. Also, the highest number I saw out of the MAP sensor was 20psia, 14@idle so about 6lb boost.

Also, the test drive took us by the location of the train crash from the Fugitive and a pretty sweet microbrewery. Good times in North Carolina!

Jarrett!! Awesome job with the #'s. It was a great afternoon trying to figure out what makes this truck tick the way it does. You're welcome to visit again anytime your in town. Too bad we live 14 hours apart! My wife thought you were very nice to come all that distance to help me out! You taught me a bunch of things about my 7.3 I did't know too.
I look forward to the comments to come In the meantime I'm ordering the sensors we talked about.

After everything is warmed up and it had that shudder does it sound any different at idle like maybe a little rougher idle or different knock sound or is it just the same as when you first fire it up
