2016 Six weeks and 6000 miles, very happy owner

2016 F-150 XLT 4x4 SCREW, 3.5 Ecoboost, 3.55 elec. lock, set up for heavy trailer pulling.

Picked it up mid-December, six weeks later 6000 miles on the odometer, and have put 336 gallons of petrol in to feed the beast. Very happy with the build quality, quiet ride, great audio, took a few miles to acquaint self with electric power steering feel but find it very accurate, I'm old schjool using mirrors for trailer work but love the back-up camera + feature for that final inch of hitch alignment, sure helps old legs getting in and out to verify. The new Sync 3 system and navigation are significant improvement over the 2014 Sync system I had.

Only knocks I have are as mentioned in other threads the halogen head lights leave a lot to be desired with older eyes on rainy nights. And yes before someone comments, I have my eyes checked yearly, and no problems yet. On next order I will upgrade to LED.

Tried a 5 tank fill test with mid-grade gas, as recommended for towing, and it appeared to give about a 5% increase in mpg, (no trailer,) but the $0.30 per gallon up charge cost more the the mpg gain returned. Will definitely always fill with mid-range when towing, as that is never an economy mode.

To sum it up, overall a very satisfied owner.

I only towed once, last season, trailer fully loaded(8k). Curious to see this season (racing) how running 93 octane will effect the mpg, if at all. Got some long hauls that should give some good feedback. If I recall, the OM calls for premium when towing or is it mid grade? Grades around here are 87-91-93. And like you, I really like the backup camera feature. No more tennis ***** on stilts, they never worked for me anyway, always took multiple tries.

I only tried one tank of premium in my 2012 EB. I didn't see any uptick in mileage so I just keep burning the cheapest gas I can find. Congratulations on you truck!

Glad your very satisfied with your new F150.
I picked my F150 XLT 5.0 up at the end of November. Everything has operated flawless. Like you may switch to LEDs later on. Have just over 1,124 miles so far.
