Oil pan threads pulled out

Went to do my first oil change last night. Removed the horribly over tightened oil filter with out issue. We to pull the drain plug out of the oil pan and could not get to budge. Got a bigger breaker bar and got it out. Plug came out with about half the threads of the pan stuck in the bolt threads. Bolt must have been tongued to 100+ foot pounds. Got a new oil pan on order with dealer think i will have to cover cost since i was doing my own oil change. Anyone else experience this?
truck is a 16 f250 6.7L

I have always gotten the 1st oil change free when I have bought a new truck. If not I would still let the dealer do it just for such circumstances. After that I do my own.

I would go to local parts house like Advance or Autozone and get an oversize pan plug. They make them 1x and 2x oversize. lot cheaper than a pan. It cuts the new threads as you screw it in.

Dorman Products - 65217

or a new pan from Dorman i suspect is cheaper than the dealer

New oil pan will be at the dealer today. I will install it and bring them the old one and they are going to submit it as a warranty issue. I will make sure everything is correctly torqued. 89 inch pounds on the 20 pan bolts and 19 ft lbs for the drain plug.

Glad you got it taken care of under warranty.

I also double check the oil level before I leave the dealer after my 2011 fiasco where I waited until I got home and then had to go back as I wanted it documented they overfilled it.

I used to do my own, but I don't know how motivated I will be to do one in the below freezing temps if I don't have a big enough heated garage when I need one in the winter.

got the new pan from the dealer and just installed it. 89 inch pounds does not seem like much. How long should i let the motocraft rtv cure before filling with oil?

Ford 2016 Workshop DVD says nothing about waiting before pouring oil in after you install the pan.

I've always had the best luck leaving it overnight to cure.

The drain plugs are made of a fairly soft metal. Threads started to get a bit chewy on mine after 10-12 oil changes, grabbed a fresh plug expecting to chase the pan but found doing so unnecessary.

why not just give that one a little snugging. Maybe the bolts on each side of it.
