Feb. chat and general BS thread

Uhh.... Folks its Feb. 2nd and nobody has broken the ice.
With the lack of chatter around here I'm about ready to declare this place officially "dead".
Have a great day folks, let's hope that damned varmit sees his shadow!

Kind of hard to break the ice when you forgot to fill the ice trays yesterday like your wife asked.

In other news I have a pile of 22.5 rims for my rollback & gotta pick up 11 10.00 & 11.00 20 tires today to go along with the 4 I got last week.

Glad to see I'm not the only one the days get away from me. Guess it's a pitfall of working nights? Besides, it's kind of hard to break the ice when it hasn't been below freezing in over a week. It is winter time in these United States...right?

The oldest being the Pats fan that he is...didn't take it too well. Add to it he had to work (life stinks when your a teenager) during the game, he wasn't too happy. I'm sure Manning & crew will get that trophy just for you Scott, it's the least they could do.

This is one of those "it's a draw" of things since we live in town. Living in town I can't burn things...the city hauls it off as part of it's "services to the citizens". But because I live in the city we can't burn things. The fire marshal gets really upset when you do.

Several years ago one of the former neighbors decided they'd rake all of the pine needles and other discarded trees foliage into a pile in their backyard & burn them off. While I don't know who reported them, there was no mistaking when the firetruck showed up. I will say it was impressive to hear that straight pipe pumper truck come screaming in....Jake brake & all.

Firefighters have all the cool toys.

I have been keeping busy in my retirement from public office. Now if I could just retire from work, maybe could get a few projects done.
Assuming I didn't have to pay for them.

I did pick up one of these for my birthday, went ahead and got the bigger one, just in case it ever had to have a powerstroke hanging off of it:

I know that feeling, retiring from turning wrenches made my body feel like working on a project or two, problem is working for the state doesn't pay enough to even get started. :-(

Happy belated birthday Joe, the first of the year was pretty much a blur with work and projects around my house. Had forgotten to log in & say something on the second, shame on me.

Only for the working poor. If your only of those lucky (unlucky?) folks that were a part of the $3.5 billion Powerball winning a couple of weeks ago...I'm thinking someone just bought a new I mean I know that's the first thing I would have done after winning the $300 some odd million split they each got.

And as if the world didn't know; guess you'll have a large box arriving soon at the Cook estate.

Or do you have to swing by the local Papa John's to pick up your birthday gift from San Fransisco?

Couple of boxes actually. Superbowl champion t shirts, hat, pins, etc., but they made me pay for them?!?! Guess they thought winning the game was enough of a gift.

If I won the power ball there would be a brand new GT350R gracing my driveway while my 1000hp 7.3 was being assembled. So yeah....... I didn't win.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that's had this question...but maybe it's just a 6.0L thing. Doing a routine oil change (fluid & filter) it takes 15 qts to get the engine oil to the right level in the pan. Why couldn't some genius figure out a way to get that one last quart in there? It sure would be allot easier, since it's cheaper to buy the oil by the gallon, instead of quart bottles...even by the case it still doesn't come close.

Not exactly the box I was talking about...but hey, if it makes you feel good about it all, more power to you cupcake.

I thought you were talking about really tuning up a 6.0L (no hardware needed)...until you mentioned that other engine. That will need some serous hardware upgrades.

A week and not a single word? Must be all this El Nino weather got everyone messed up...yeah, that's the ticket.

Our trusty fuel oil is on the rise...got mixed emotions on this. As a consumer cheaper is better...seen it as low as $1.31 at a Sam's club in Tulsa 2-3 weeks back; and I took the extra 10 minutes to fill the tank ALL THE WAY up. But as someone that moves vast quantities of frac sand, crude oil and other oil patch material...this slump has drastically slashed the demand for our services at work.
