The first place I walked from was where I had invested nearly 13 years of my labor and life. Managers changed up and things started rapidly going down hill. I had no prospect of where I would go or what I would do but, what I did know was I wasn't going to be their welcome mat to walk all over anymore. I left there. 4 years later, the place folded and all those people lost their jobs.

The second job I walked from (with no job prospects to go to) I had been at for 2 and a half years. I made more money there than I had ever made in my life. Mangers changed mid-stream and again, things went down hill. I left and 10 months later the place folded and all those people lost their jobs.

I left the 3rd place after working there for more than 8 years because of an interim manager that didn't know anything about munitions testing and was trying to lie to his superiors on me as to why the department wasn't working like it should. --His ineptness was being blamed on me. The general manger stepped in, took over the department for a while and realized I wasn't the problem and quickly realized where (who) the problem was. I got passed over for a raise because of these lies and even after it was admitted by the manager I wasn't at fault, 8 months later, the raise still hadn't come. This interim manager was moved to another department, --and apparently later on was involved in running a test wrong that got that ENTIRE department canned, from what I heard through the grapevine.

This time though, I did have somewhere to go and it's where I've been working for nearly 3 years now. (at least so far), I like where I currently work. I like what I do and I like the people I work with and for.

Things may seem bleak when you don't know what the future holds or how soon the next job opportunity will come along before funds may get tight. Hang in there though. An opportunity will come along that may be as good (monetary and/or condition-wise) or, exceedingly better than what you left behind. Good workers don't usually stay unemployed for long.

Thanks Steve. Sorry to hear of your "adventures" shall we say? I really do APPRECIATE the concerns and dare I say compassion of you and all on this forum. I do feel there is something out there. The blow of not having the job I thought was best and in the bank hit home. But I am a survivor not a wimp. I guess I'll find out soon what the "best" really is.

I feel for you....Don't worry...someone with your knowlege and expertise will land on your feet and be better off than ever. I spent 21 years behind a parts counter at a small John Deere dealership. They sold out to a big "mega dealer" who brought in their own bozo's to run things the "right" way. Same thing....they ruined all the dealings we had with some major customers....they also destroyed some courteous business relationships we had with some of our competitors. When the other parts guy decided to retire, corporate big wigs replaced him with a "problem child" that none of the other stores wanted...over the objections of all the employees at our store. That was the last straw for me, and I gave notice. Best thing I ever did. I see customers in town, and they wish I was still there, or would go back. I have several who call me to have me look up part numbers so they can take them in an get the correct parts.
I know everyone on here wishes you the best....and are hoping the right thing for you will come along. Confidence is high.
Take care.

Thanks Wayne. Sorry to hear you felt my pain as the ol' story goes. Reading best wishes like you typed does a heart good. I do have full confidence but still, Thanks Buddy. I will (and have) "cowboy up".

Damn. Jeff, I'm sorry you have to deal with this crap. It's amazing how someone new has to come in, and "make their mark" by changing everything that works. It's ridiculous how often this happens, and how often it fails. And it's usually guys like you that have to pay for it. I'm betting you get something squared away quick, I just don't think they can keep a guy like you down! Good luck, you Majesty!

Oh, may the mosquitoes from a thousand swamps feast upon the genitalia of that manager that fired you!!!

Hey Jeff, Aw can't say anything that has not been said already. But it's seems it's all part of life with the highs & lows for all us humans to have to go through. As the old saying goes you were looking for a job when you found the last one. And you'll find another one to replace that one.

I guess with your absents on this Kingdom here we all kind of had some kind of feeling that you were no longer at your job site for reason unknown which could be one of many things.

A possibly absents? Maybe your Sick, Maybe Lame, or Maybe quit. Maybe fired.
But for what ever reason your were missed here.

As you are a go getter and that makes things turn up fast when your that type of person.

Any way your were missed with your short off time here.

Orich

Sry Im late to the party, And cant much that hasnt been said already. Couple things I noticed right off the bat. I have always admired and appreciated your input and willingness to jump in and help in any situation, and right off the bat I noticed that everyone else feels the same way, we all appreciate you. Glad to hear your absence was short lived and that you are ok, and I'm sry to hear about the job at the same time. Good things happen to good people, and you sir are one of the best. For that reason I hope you take advantage of the time off because it wont be long before you will be back in the saddle working away. I know Im not alone in saying this but if you needed anything you know we are here.

Ugh, sorry to hear about your situation.

I count my blessings, just got 30 yrs in at the same place. Family run business(I'm not family), of course it has its share of issues to deal with. Never thought I'd be here 30 yrs.

Keep your head up, I'm sure the right job will knock on your door. Good workers don't usually have to work to hard to find a job.

Thank You SOOO very much guys for your kind words. We have one heck of an awesome Kingdom here. What started out as me asking Gembone to let you all know that I was going to be off the radar for a bit morphed in to this thread making my big o' heart go pitty-pat as the old saying goes. As I told someone else on another thread, everyone needs a pat on the back or someone to lift a shoulder every once in a while. YOU ALL HAVE DONE BOTH.
Hmmm, depends on how 2 possibilities turns out, I wonder if I shouldn't set forth a Royal Decree that 2/1 is a Kingdom national holiday. The day I was let go.
