I just took an all highway trip putting on 310 miles and put in 14.48 gallons when I filled, topping it off like usuall, giving me 21.4 MPG, average speed was 63. Would have probably done a bit better but my foot got heavy for a couple 100+ MPH runs on some of the long, straight, flat Nebraska roads.
Just drove from Cleveland to Detroit and back today, got 21 mpg going and 21.4 coming back. 70 to 80 mph. Truck has 2800.0 miles on it now, see signature.
My '99 Ranger 4x4 supercab 3.0 v6 auto would get 12.5-15 in town and on trips no cruise control running 75-80 would get right at 16.5.Was consistent for 3.5 years I had it.Also it always knocked on regular gas,had to run midgrade especcially in summer. Usually in town was closer to 13-14.
I have fueled mine twice so far, 21.6 and 21.8. All stock (so far) running 70 mile round trip to and from work, about 1/2 thru in town traffic, with the a/c on most of the time. I plan on putting in a 2-1/2" cat back exhaust and a air filter mod. I believe both will increase fuel mileage.
AWESOME! Thank you Very much. That makes me very happy to finally know the true mpg I am getting, and that was on a mountain highway with about 150 kilometers being offroad in 4x4. I think 19.475 miles per gallon is pretty good for a 4x4 truck.
I drove across from San Diego to Pensacola and averaged between 22-35 mpg in my 94 Ranger 5 speed 2.3 L with truck bed full and a Leer 700 series tonneau cover with an average speed 70 mph. Believe tonneau assisted with countering wind drag.
