This was for my Bumpside but it also applies to the Dents since they are generally sisters under the skin....
Here are a couple of choices using common Ford donors.... on the left is a 95-ish console out of an F150 SuperCab and an early 90s Bronco - both were equipped with buckets. Note the difference in height and the more square shape of the Bronco console.
The plan included '70 Mach 1 buckets with TMI Sport foams and upholstery and the Bronco console.... but upon installation of the seats I discovered the bolsters were really wide so I needed to use the 95 console because it tapers narrower in the front. Due to the odd shape of the bottoms shown above, I fabricated a lightweight bracket so it would sit level at a comfortable height.
These are 40/20/40 seats from a 2010 F-150. The original seat brackets were removed and the tracks mounted to 1" box tubing. The console (and internal cubby) was shortened by taking 1.5" off the bottom and fabricating brackets that mount directly to the floor. Cupholder wasn't modified and the cool thing is, the console flips up and serves as a center seat as well. I've seen similar consoles on ebay.
BTW, HIO, I really like your exhaust solution through the trans. mount crossmember. That's the kind of innovative thinking I need to keep in mind!
3/4" mdf covered in spray on bed liner. Stainless drink cups, with a 10" sub in the back. Cost me about $120.00 to make including two 6"x9" boxes and a board to mount my amp.
Gotta say that I love the planning and layout of these units.
CO, is that a bare floor covered with bedliner material?
HIO, still looking to hook up with you for a trip to PNP and to settle a debt.
No it's an acc vinyl floor. I was thinking of bed lining the floor but I wanted the insulation. My daily drive is 36 miles one way. I wanted to hear myself think when I got there.
Personally, I'd recommend building one out of wood if you want to avoid the ugly plastic look of everything these days. But, I'm bias because I fell in love with the one Mark III put in my '94 Flareside.
Do you have a part number for the latch on the Pickup console? I found a console but it's missing the latch. I tried a F1TZ-7806072-A but it's not correct.
