Question Question for power stroke vets

I've posted on here several times since i bought this truck about 2 weeks ago. It's a 1995 power stroke f550 dually. I drove the truck about a week then the check engine light came on and the truck began to have a very rough idle when put into park or nuetral (hauling sheds and gazebo's on a 4000lb trailer) took it into the dealership and the replaced an IPR or LPR ??? sensor and it seemed to run fine. About four days later on this past thur i was pulling a load for about 330 mi one way when i noticed that truck would not shift into overdrive or was having a hard time shifting into any gears without me letting out on the accelerator. I dropped off the load and made the 330 mi trip home with my empty trailer. I noticed when i started on the way back it still was fighting going into overdrive but the tranny didn't hesitate when accelerating just when shifting. I made it home. Funny thing is as i got off of the main roads it seem to stop acting up when shifting but the shifts just arn't as crisp as they were. So i took it back to the dealer and threw a fit and they agreed to fix it. They said that they wouldn't be able to fix it cause it wasn't showing any codes. So i had another temper tantrum. Today they called and told me that they think its the cam position sensor. Is this possible? I"m not sure how a cam pos. sensor would cause this. Thanks for any help.

Question for power stroke vets

I have never had that happen with a bad Cam sensor. I have it happen with the speed sensor in the back end going wrong, and other tranny related problems may cause it.

The Cam sensor just makes the truck run like it is broken, or will kill it at inopportune times. It is possible they may be right, but if they are a Ford Dealer, I very much doubt they are. Every time I have taken any of my trucks to Ford, I have wished I had not bothered. Try taking it to an International dealer - they may be more knowledgeable about the problem.
